"Asking My Date To The Prom"

This is how my boyfriend of two and a half years asked me to his prom: It was a saturday night, and he called me around 10:00 asking me if I could pick him up at this restaurant nearby. I was a little reluctant, but I said I would anyways. When I got there he asked if he could drive (something we commonly do.) So we switched spots and I let him have control of the wheel. It didn't take long for me to realize we were heading in the opposite direction of home, but I kept my mouth shut to see what would happen. We ended up at this little secluded lake that is surrounded by a bunch of houses. He parked the car and we walked down to the shore. Up on the bank was a small canoe, to which Danny says "Let's go out on the lake, I'll teach you how to fish." Now, I should let you know that I am terrified of small boats, but I knew I had some surprise comming and I wasn't about to ruin it. So, I slowly crawled in and let him push us into the water. Once he rowed us to the middle of the lake, he handed me a fishing reel and told me to simply reel in the line. I did so, and at the end of the reel was a glass bottle of Sparkling Cider! I reached over to pull it out of the water, and when I turned back to him he was holding two champagne glasses in one hand and a rose in the other!! I just about melted, which is when he smiled and said "Kellie, will you go to prom with me?" I said "YES! Ofcourse I will!" and then, this is the best part, I got another surprise! Out there in the middle of a peacful lake, with the stars above us, FIREWORKS started to go off!! He had planned it so that his friend would set them off after I said yes! (There was a walkee talkee onboard). So that is how I got asked to prom. I will never, ever forget it!! Could you?!
Try this one . . .

My Most Memorable Prom Night

A Night to Remember

I'll just say it was unforgettable. . . it felt like something from a movie or a fantasy. . . but. . . yes. . . well I went to my prom. . . for the last half hour of it anyway. . . so here's my story;  I went on a double date.  My friend and I picked up our dates at 6:30 and we were running late.  And man, when I saw my date in her prom dress. . . she looked beautiful. . . I mean she was gorgeous.  We went to eat at Il Fornaio, which was very good, and when we were done we went to our car. . . but guess what, it wasn't there.  So we thought someone was playing a joke on us.  But then we saw a sign on the wall that said, "NO PARKING, For Residents Only".  We couldn't believe it.  We called up the apartment manager and he said that no one told him anything so he wasn't going to put charges on us.  Then he told us where our car was in impound, which was 30 blocks away.  So we walked 10 blocks and we found a taxi.  He was cool cuz he only charged us like $12 for a 20 block ride for 4 people and he didn't take a tip.  Now we were at the impound and the lady that was working was laughing and asked us "How's your day going?"  She told us that we had to pay $100, so I paid for it because no one else had the money.  Then we went off to prom, but we got lost.  It took us like 1 1/2 hours to get there.  We arrived at 10:30, so we took pictures and only got to dance to one song, which was the last dance. . . which was kind of cool.  So after prom we went to my house and watched a movie and my date and I just cuddled, which was also cool cuz I really like her, ever since last year.  Then we dropped our dates at 1:30 cuz they had a curfew.  I was supposed to get a kiss g'night. . .  but her mom was inside the door. . . so I didn't get one. . .  so yeah. . .  that's our night. . . it was great overall. . . cuz I know now that my date likes me!

WE'RE JUST FRIENDS

Hi, my name is ---- ------ and I was a Junior when my friend asked me to prom.  We all have a really close group of friends and one of my guy friends in the group I guess really liked me.  Everyone was always trying to set me up with him.  Anyway prom time was closing in and I didn't have a date.  I went to work one night and it was a really bad night.  I work at a restaurant as a hostess.  People were yelling at me and everything.  Just when I was walking back to the kitchen to do my side work, I saw a man with a dozen roses.  I didn't think anything of it until I found out they were for me.  I started to cry because I only thought of him as a friend.  So I called my friends who were at a party.  I told them all about it.  To top it all off he was at the party too.  They said that they could tell that he was really embarrassed.  I told them not to say anything to him about it.  I didn't know what to do because I really wanted to go to prom with him because I knew that I would have fun.  On the other hand I didn't want him to think that I wanted to be more than friends.  After a time deciding, I finally accepted.  I told him that I wanted to go just as friends.  He showed up at my house on prom night with another dozen roses and a smile.  I took it with a grain of salt.  Through the course of the night I began to realize what my friends were talking about and why they wanted to hook me up with him.  We ended up kissing at the end of the night.  Now two months later we are still together.  I never knew that being just friends could end up being much more!

IT'S IN THE STARS

My boyfriend goes to a different school.  When he asked me to be his date for prom, I kept him waiting so that I could respond in a fun way.  When he came home from a baseball game one night, on the door to his room he found a note from me.  It read; "Star light, star bright, you'll find your answer among the stars tonight."  He went into his room and never noticed a thing.  Later he was getting ready for bed and turned out the lights.  He then saw that I had put up glow in the dark stars all over his room.  But right above his bed I used the stars to spell out the word, "YES!"

TEA FOR TWO

Well, it all started the beginning of my Junior year.  I asked my girlfriend, or soon too be girlfriend, to go to homecoming with me.  I asked her on a floppy disk by a flash animation.  I know this was bad, but I was extremely nervous and shy.  Later on during the school year she asked me to Sadies via the school newspaper, since she was the editor and all she could pull it off.
Now that Prom is approaching, I wanted to ask my girlfriend to go with me in an extremely creative way; however, she is also extremely shy.  I began bouncing ideas off of her boss, a nice woman who owns a tea room.  I decided that I would build two teddy bears.  One would be dressed in a tuxedo while the other would be dressed in a prom gown.  I stuffed both of the bears; however, before stuffing the male I put a voice recording into it asking my sweetheart to go to prom with me.  Upon leaving the store where I built the bears, I began looking for a small tea table and tea set.  Needless to say, I found one and after I bought a small bouquet of flowers to pin to the male's paw.  It looked wonderful.  Also, in an effort to make the bears more realistic, I put glasses on the male bear, for I also wear glasses.

After much planning, my girlfriend's boss suggested that I come to her tea room and the owner would call my cell phone when the tea party was over for that day.  My boss then told my girlfriend to wash the dishes, something that she has never done before while she has been working at the tea room.  I then proceeded to sneak in and set up the table on top of the real table along with the small tea set.  Her boss had also set up two place settings for my girlfriend and I to use.  After everything was placed, I am somewhat of a perfectionist, my girlfriend was called back from washing dishes.  Upon walking into the tea room, she was stunned.  She asked me what I was doing there, she was in a state of shock.  Needless to say, she immediately accepted my invitation to Prom.  It turned out great!  It goes to show that with a little foresight and planning I could be creative and romantic!

HE'LL SAY YES...

I just asked my high school crush to the prom.  We are both lovers of music and I wrapped a box with a little note on the card.  On the outside of the box I wrote; "A little note for you!" And I drew musical notes all over the outside.  On the inside of the box I put, "DO-RE-ME-U-AND-ME-PROM?"  I left it in the front office at my high school and he picked it up.  I haven't received an answer yet, but I anticipate one soon!
(Even if he says no, I'll never forget the way I asked him.)

SHY? OR NOT?

Well, I'm not usually shy with asking guys, but it was the first time I was ever going to ask someone younger than me.  I'm a Junior and I wanted to ask this freshman to prom.  I really didn't want to do it because he is so young and it would be way embarrassing if he said no.  But I told my friends I really wanted to, in hopes they could convince me to do it.  So one day before Spring Break, our school was having a Pep Rally and our class decorated with lots of balloons.  So while the Freshmen were at lunch, we took some balloons and wrote on each one,  "Brian will you go to prom with me?"  A different word on each balloon and passed them to him.  Then the next night at concert, (he's in band) he had a bunch of balloons that said, "Yes" and he let them go during the concert.  It was great!

Ask a date out, in a way-out way!

My best friend and I had decided a year ago that he and I would go to our Junior prom together. Well the time came and he changed his mind!! I was so sad, so I scrambled to find the right date. That didn't work so I tried to find ANY date! I asked everyone, it was so pathetic! Finally I decided that I would ask this really cute, older guy that I worked with. (I have had a crush on him for 5 years!!) So I was going to ask him one night at work and I was way too nervous. . . so I put it off. I had 3 people pass off hints to him that I needed a date. That didn't work. He asked who I wanted to go with and they said I didn't want to go with any one in particular, that I just wanted a date. Well finally I was going to ask him myself. One night at work I decided to approach him with my question. . . my stomach was fluttering with nervous butterflies, I suddenly felt so sick and I turned all pale. When I got up next to him I almost fainted! I felt so sick!! He told me I looked like I was going to be sick and told me I could go home. So I left work early without asking him . . . how pathetic! Later that night he called and asked me if I was OK. I told him yes that I was just nervous about something. He asked what? I said, "Asking you to Prom" He said WOW! Do you still wanna ask me? I said, "Yes, I did." He said he would go with me and we had an awesome time that night. He sang to me while we danced to slow songs and it was like a dream, and so wonderful. All that embarrassment paid off!.

Prom for Four Please

"Wouldn't it be cool if you, Toby, Dan and I could go together as a group to Junior Prom?" asked Melisa.
What?, I thought, the guys would never go for that. Now before I get carried away, I should mention that Melissa, Toby, and Dan are my three best friends. I have known Melissa since 4th grade, Toby since 7th grade, and I met Dan last year. Sure, it seems a little strange to call Dan and Toby my best friends after not having known the guys that long, but they have truly become part of my family. I'm the oldest of three kids and I always wanted to have a big brother. So in a weird way, now I have two.

Anyway, one day Melissa and I were typing up the phone lines, as usual, when she came up with the idea of going to prom as a group. "Toby could take me and Dan could take you. That would work, right?" she inquired with a slight hint of mischiviousness in her voice. That's when the wheels started turnhing. It could work, I thought, I mean since Toby and I go to the same school, it's only logical that he would escort Melissa (Mell for short) since she went to a difference school, and I would take Dan who is home schooled. And as far as I knew, none of us had any other plans. After an hour of gigling and planning we decided it would be up to me to present the idea to Toby, who would in turn ask Melissa. Then I would have to invite Dan. Sound simple? Easier said than done. Still, it was no trouble getting Toby to call Mell. The really hard part was getting the guts to ask Dan. I mean, he was like a brother to me and I didn't want him to get the wrong idea. I must have rehearsed the invitation at least 20 times in my head: "Hey, I was thinking that the four of us could go together to my and Toby's prom. . ." Two days after that conversation between Mell and me, the guys came over for our weekly study group. Right as I was about to pop the question, Dan says, "Hey, so Toby told me about the prom thing. Sounds good to me! When is it? OK, that sounds cool."

Prom is still two months away and while Mell and I are busy looking for our dresses, the guys have been busy coming up with ways to be weird and obnoxious--you know how guys can be. They talked about wearing plaid suits complete with mullets, and even those tuxedo t-shirts. And to think that I did all that worrying just to ask a friend out and ended up not even having to do it. I guess that the moral of the story is, prom is just another one of those things that seem scary at first but in the end you see there was no reason to be scared. I don't know what its like for guys, but for us girls, its not about who your date is or where it is. Its about dressing up, having your parents look at you in tears, ("Awwww, you look so beautiful...sniff") and about feeling like a princess just for one night. And hey, if I'm going to be a princess, what could be better than having my best friends ruling next to me!
